Companion bills, S. 2219 and H.R. 4665, known as the Outdoor REC (Recreation’s Economic Contributions) Act have been introduced in the U.S. Congress and are starting to move.  The bills would require the Secretary of Commerce in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor and in consultation with federal land management agencies to assess and analyze the outdoor recreation economy of the United States and the effects attributable to it on the overall U.S. economy.  The assessment may consider employment, sales, contributions to travel and tourism, and other appropriate contributing components of the outdoor recreation economy.
 
Take Action now and send a letter to your Members of Congress in support of the legislation and highlighting the importance of motorized recreation.
