Original Action Alert:

Take a Look at the Report then Send an Email to Secretary Jewell

As you know, Representatives Rob Bishop, Jason Chaffetz and Chris Stewart are undertaking an ambitious effort to bring resolution to some of the most challenging land disputes in Utah. Their initiative has brought together over 120 different advocacy groups, businesses and land organizations – representing the entire spectrum of policy and political viewpoints – that have an interest in the management of public lands in Eastern Utah. This truly collaborative process is to be applauded and replicated in other areas. While this great effort to bring together all stakeholders is proceeding, it is imperative that you Take Action to send an email to Secretary Jewell to urge her and the Administration NOT to move forward with a National Monument designation in these areas. Jewell has made it clear that the Administration intends to move forward with designations across the United States, but to unilaterally make land use decisions in Eastern Utah while this process is underway would be to ignore the will of the local public.
